Kristaps Porzingis Returns!
Celtics Center Recovers from Injury, Eager to Return for Playoff Run
Progress Report and Return Timeline
Kristaps Porzingis, the Celtics' starting center, addressed the media on Tuesday to provide an update on his recovery from a sprained ankle. Porzingis has been sidelined since March 12th but has made significant progress in his rehabilitation.
"The ankle is feeling a lot better," said Porzingis. "I've been able to do some light running and shooting drills, and everything has been responding well. I'm still taking it day by day, but I'm getting closer to returning to the court."
When asked about a potential return timeline, Porzingis remained cautious but optimistic. "I'm not sure exactly when I'll be back, but I'm hopeful that I can rejoin the team before the playoffs," he said. "I'm doing everything I can to get back as soon as possible, but I don't want to rush anything and risk re-injuring the ankle."
Celtics' Playoff Prospects with Porzingis' Return
Porzingis' return would be a significant boost for the Celtics, who are currently the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference. With Porzingis in the lineup, the Celtics would have a formidable frontcourt duo alongside All-Star forward Jayson Tatum.
"Kristaps is a huge part of our team," said Celtics coach Ime Udoka. "Having him back will give us a lot more flexibility and firepower on both ends of the court. We're excited to have him back as soon as he's ready."
