France Reach Olympic Quarter-Finals After Extra-Time Win Over Egypt
France came from behind to beat 10-man Egypt 2-1 after extra time and reach the quarter-finals of the Olympic men's football tournament on Tuesday.
Jean-Philippe Mateta scored twice for France, including the winning goal in the 110th minute. Mostafa Mohamed had given Egypt the lead in the 11th minute, but Ammar Hamdy was sent off for a second yellow card in the 70th minute, leaving Egypt to play with 10 men for the rest of the match.
