2022 LITTLE LEAGUE WORLD SERIES: ASIA-PACIFIC REGION HOLDS OFF SOUTHEAST REGION 2-0

The Asia-Pacific region defeated the Southeast region 2-0 in the first game of the 2022 Little League World Series. The Asia-Pacific region's starting pitcher, Aidan Miller, threw a complete game shutout, allowing only three hits and striking out 10 batters. The Asia-Pacific region's offense was led by Ethan Salas, who went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.The Asia-Pacific region took an early lead in the game, scoring a run in the top of the first inning. The Southeast region threatened to tie the game in the bottom of the inning, but Miller struck out the last two batters with runners on first and second base.
The Asia-Pacific region added another run in the top of the third inning. Salas doubled to lead off the inning and later scored on a wild pitch. The Southeast region again threatened to score in the bottom of the inning, but Miller again struck out the last two batters with runners on base.Miller continued to dominate on the mound, retiring the side in order in the fourth and fifth innings. The Asia-Pacific region's offense also continued to threaten, but they were unable to add to their lead.
The Southeast region mounted a rally in the bottom of the sixth inning, putting runners on first and second with one out. But Miller once again came through, striking out the next two batters to end the inning.
The Asia-Pacific region held on to win the game 2-0, advancing to the next round of the tournament.
