Nerlens Noel Signs 1-Year Contract with Sacramento Kings

Kings Add Veteran Center

Deal Worth Reported $3.1 Million

Free agent center Nerlens Noel has agreed to a one-year contract with the Sacramento Kings, his agent George Langberg confirmed to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The deal is reportedly worth $3.1 million.

Noel, 29, was waived by the Detroit Pistons on Feb. 10 after appearing in 14 games. He averaged 2.6 points and 4.9 rebounds per game in those contests.

The 6-foot-11, 220-pound center will now join his seventh different franchise. He has previously played for the Philadelphia 76ers, Dallas Mavericks, Oklahoma City Thunder, New York Knicks, and Brooklyn Nets.

Noel was the sixth overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft by the New Orleans Pelicans, but was traded to the 76ers on draft night. He has averaged 8.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game in his career.

The Kings are currently 32-25 and in seventh place in the Western Conference. They are hoping that Noel can add some toughness and rebounding to their frontcourt.
